Lowe’s officially launched HomeCare+ on March 17, 2026, marking the home improvement retailer’s entry into subscription-based services. The $99 annual service targets MyLowe’s Rewards loyalty members and reaches about 75% of homes nationwide.
The subscription includes two in-home visits per year. Lowe’s store associates perform up to seven maintenance services during each appointment: electric dryer vent cleaning, HVAC air filter replacement, refrigerator water filter replacement, electric water heater flush, garage door lubrication, smoke and carbon monoxide detector battery replacement, and light bulb replacement.
“HomeCare+ is all about simplifying home improvement and making it easier for our customers,” said Jen Wilson, Lowe’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “Bringing together a simple, affordable subscription with something that truly sets Lowe’s apart—the expertise of our red vest associates—is how we will deepen loyalty with our customers.”
The service automatically elevates rewards members to gold status. Members receive 5% discounts on HVAC filters, light bulbs, batteries and refrigerator water filters. Lowe’s plans to offer HomeCare+ gift cards later this year.
The launch comes as Lowe’s faces challenging market conditions. CEO Marvin Ellison noted that “many consumers are reluctant to make significant investments in their homes within this challenging macro environment.” Despite posting over 10% sales growth and beating expectations, the company called its outlook “appropriately conservative.”
Amanda Bailey, Lowe’s vice president of customer marketing and loyalty, said the service addresses customer pain points. “We know home maintenance can feel overwhelming, whether you’re a first-time homeowner, a busy parent or someone who’s simply uncomfortable climbing ladders around the home,” Bailey explained.
Data from Bold North Roofing shows 60% of homeowners actively delay necessary maintenance. Ninety-two percent have at least one outstanding repair on their to-do list. Sixty-eight percent of first-time homeowners admit feeling overwhelmed by home projects.
The global home maintenance subscription services market surpassed $4.2 billion in 2024. McKinsey research shows 42% of customers prefer subscription-based services over one-time services.
HomeCare+ builds on Lowe’s digital home platform launched in November 2024. That platform offers loyalty members free personalized information about products in their home, including warranties, manuals and maintenance guidelines.
The subscription service differentiates Lowe’s from Home Depot, which focuses on protection plans for purchased items. Lowe’s takes a proactive approach using trained associates for regular maintenance visits.
