Walmart Launches La Roche-Posay in 1,460 Stores with Pharmacist Consultations

Quick Facts

  • La Roche-Posay products are now available in 1,460 Walmart locations nationwide
  • Walmart pharmacists will receive specialized training to provide personalized skincare consultations
  • The partnership includes popular products like Toleriane moisturizers, Anthelios sunscreens, and Cicaplast balms

Walmart has launched La Roche-Posay products in 1,460 stores nationwide, bringing the French dermatological brand to mass retail customers for the first time. The partnership includes a unique service component where Walmart pharmacists will receive specialized training to provide skincare consultations.

La Roche-Posay announced the expansion on April 3, 2026. The brand generates €1 billion in revenue and holds the position as the world’s leading dermatological skincare brand, recommended by more than 100,000 dermatologists globally.

“By launching at Walmart, we are significantly expanding the reach of our mission to make science backed skincare more accessible,” said Rachelle Mladjenovic, General Manager of La Roche-Posay.

Walmart customers can purchase the brand’s most popular products including Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer, Anthelios Ultra Light Fluid Face Sunscreen SPF 60, and Cicaplast Balm B5. The products feature clinical formulations backed by 25 years of research and over 750 clinical studies.

The trained pharmacists will address complex skincare needs, including skin side effects from medical treatments. This healthcare integration differentiates Walmart’s approach from traditional beauty retailers.

“Through the combination of our trusted, knowledgeable team of pharmacists and the science backed skin care of La Roche-Posay, Walmart will further strengthen its place as a leading skin care destination,” said Vinima Shekhar, vice president of beauty at Walmart U.S.

The launch supports Walmart’s premium beauty expansion strategy. The retailer added more than 60 brands to its premium beauty assortment in the past year. Circana reported that the U.S. prestige beauty market grew 8% to $15.3 billion in the first half of 2024, while mass category sales held flat.

Walmart’s beauty strategy focuses on providing access across every price tier rather than competing directly with specialty retailers like Sephora and Ulta. The global professional skincare market is projected to grow from $2.17 billion in 2024 to $9.57 billion by 2032 at a 20.4% compound annual growth rate.
