Bed Bath & Beyond opened its first co-branded store with The Container Store on Saturday at 4601 West Freeway in Fort Worth, Texas. The new format combines organizing solutions with home essentials under one roof.
The retailer plans to roll out Bed Bath & Beyond products across The Container Store’s 98 locations nationwide in a phased approach over the coming months. Products will also become available online at containerstore.com.
“This is an exciting step forward as we continue bringing our Everything Home vision to life,” said Amy Sullivan, President of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. “By bringing together the strengths of these two iconic brands, we’re creating a more connected shopping experience that combines inspiration, organization, solutions and value for customers across every room in the home.”
The store expands core Container Store departments like kitchen, bath and closet with small appliances and textiles. New areas include dining, bedding and curtains familiar to Bed Bath & Beyond customers.
CEO Marcus Lemonis emphasized the integrated approach during an earnings call. “Rather than thinking about walking into the store and expecting to see Bed Bath & Beyond on the left and Container Store on the right, I would rather you thought about it as general merchandise in one specific area,” he said.
Bed Bath & Beyond acquired The Container Store for $150 million after the organization retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December 2024. The Container Store emerged in January 2025 as a private company.
The move supports Bed Bath & Beyond’s ambitious expansion plans. The company expects to operate more than 300 stores across multiple formats, including co-branded stores, neighborhood locations, seasonal stores and buybuy BABY locations.
Container Store locations represent over 2.2 million square feet of retail space, with an average footprint of approximately 21,000 square feet per store. Bed Bath & Beyond reported Q1 2026 net revenue of $248 million, an increase of 7% year-over-year.
The opening marks a significant milestone in Bed Bath & Beyond’s comeback strategy. The retailer filed for bankruptcy in April 2023 and shut down all 365 stores before Overstock.com acquired its intellectual property and relaunched it as a digital-first business.
