Aritzia’s Store Openings Drive Double-Digit E-Commerce Gains in New U.S. Markets

Quick Facts

  • Aritzia grew fiscal 2026 net revenue 35.2% to $3.70 billion, with U.S. sales up 43.8% to $2.28 billion.
  • New boutiques in markets like St. Louis produce high double-digit lifts in local digital sales, according to the company’s chief digital officer.
  • The Aritzia mobile app surpassed 1 million downloads after launch and now accounts for 20% to 40% of total e-commerce sales.

Aritzia is accelerating its push into secondary U.S. markets, and the strategy is paying off in both stores and online. The Canadian retailer posted net revenue of $3.70 billion in fiscal 2026, a 35.2% increase over the prior year, with the United States generating 57.1% of total revenue.

U.S. net revenue reached $2.28 billion in fiscal 2026, up from $1.58 billion in fiscal 2025. Comparable sales grew 34% in Q3 fiscal 2026 alone, a record quarter for the company.

The Halo Effect

Physical store openings are directly fueling online growth. Margot Johnson, Aritzia’s chief digital officer, told analysts that opening a boutique in a new market like St. Louis produces a strong and sustained lift in regional digital sales in the high double digits.

CEO Jennifer Wong described the dynamic plainly. “When we open a new store and a new market, all the buzz around the flagship openings and the marketing around that drives traffic to the e-commerce site,” she said. New stores are also generating immediate returns, with fiscal 2026 openings on track to pay back in less than a year, ahead of the company’s 12- to 18-month target.

Aritzia currently operates 76 U.S. locations and sees room for 180 to 200 stores in the country. In fiscal 2027, it plans to open 11 to 12 new U.S. boutiques and enter four new markets: Birmingham, Ala.; Fort Worth, Texas; New Orleans; and St. Louis. Additional openings are planned in Atlanta, Cleveland, Las Vegas, Florida, California, and Texas.

Mobile as a Conversion Engine

Aritzia launched its mobile app on October 28 and hit 1 million downloads within weeks. It was the most-downloaded shopping app in the App Store on its first day, split evenly between U.S. and Canadian users.

The app now drives 20% to 40% of total e-commerce sales. App users convert at higher rates and visit more frequently than desktop users. Wong described the app as designed to feel as immersive and personal as visiting a physical boutique.

The company is building out full-funnel marketing to support the digital ecosystem, including affiliate and influencer programs, SMS, and AI-driven search improvements.

International Signals

Aritzia ships to 137 countries and reported a 53% year-over-year increase in international e-commerce sales. The company is using that demand data to inform future physical expansion beyond North America, though no specific markets have been announced.

Net income for fiscal 2025 rose 163.8% to $207.8 million, giving the company a financial foundation to sustain its current pace of store openings and digital investment.

With low brand awareness still present across much of the United States, Aritzia’s store-led, digitally amplified model positions the company to keep compounding growth as it enters new cities.
