StockX Launches Live Shopping With Auctions Starting at $1

Quick Facts

  • StockX Live launches this summer for all U.S. iOS customers, featuring live auctions starting at $1 across sneakers, apparel, collectibles, trading cards, and vintage fashion.
  • The platform’s 30 million unique monthly visitors will have access to live chat, giveaways, and direct buyer-seller interaction backed by StockX’s existing buyer protection guarantee.
  • The launch comes alongside StockX’s reopening of a permanent NYC retail location in SoHo and the April 2026 debut of its Store at StockX service.

StockX is moving into live commerce. The Detroit-based resale marketplace announced StockX Live on June 9, 2026, a real-time shopping experience for new and pre-owned items coming to the platform this summer. It will be available to all U.S. iOS customers on mobile and web.

The feature will include live auctions in multiple formats: standard timed bidding, sudden death auctions, pre-bidding, and max bidding. Most auctions will start at $1. Viewers can also enter free giveaways and interact with sellers through live chat.

Every transaction will carry the StockX Buyer Promise. That guarantee has been a core part of the platform’s standard marketplace and will extend into the live format.

Opening Up the Seller-Buyer Connection

StockX’s standard marketplace anonymizes buyer-seller interactions. StockX Live changes that. Sellers will have a direct line to buyers in real time, backed by dedicated marketing support from StockX’s live team.

“StockX Live will give our sellers something they’ve never had before: a direct line to millions of buyers who are already here, already engaged and already trust our platform,” said Ryan Larson, VP of Live at StockX.

Sellers can sign up for early access at stockx.com/about/stockx-live. At launch, the platform will focus on sneakers, apparel, collectibles, trading cards, and vintage fashion.

A Crowded Market With Room to Move

The timing is deliberate. The U.S. has become the second-largest live commerce market in the world. The global live commerce market was valued at $172.86 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $230.28 billion in 2026, growing at a compound annual rate of 41.0%. The U.S. segment is expected to grow at a CAGR of 37.2% from 2026 to 2033.

TikTok Shop, Whatnot, and Amazon Live have built that market. eBay launched its own live shopping product in the U.S. in 2022 and has since expanded to the U.K., Germany, Australia, and Canada. Early technical problems and restrictive seller onboarding have slowed its progress.

StockX CEO Greg Schwartz framed the launch as a natural extension of the platform’s existing trust infrastructure. “We’ve spent years building a scaled, trusted, and transparent marketplace and now we’re bringing all of that into a live experience,” Schwartz said.

Part of a Broader Platform Push

StockX Live is the latest in a series of product moves. In April 2026, the company launched Store at StockX, a service that lets buyers purchase items and store them at a StockX verification center without taking physical possession. Buyers can later resell or ship the item.

On June 15, 2026, StockX reopened its New York City retail location at 237 Lafayette Street in SoHo. The space is StockX’s first permanent U.S. retail destination. It carries roughly 300 rotating items, priced in line with real-time StockX market values, and will also function as a content studio for creator collaborations and product drops.

Together, the moves signal a push to keep buyers, sellers, and collectors inside the StockX ecosystem rather than losing them to competing platforms.
