  • The platform unifies real-time inventory data, analytics, and task management tools in one app for suppliers working across Walmart’s 10,900 stores

Walmart rolled out a new app that connects supplier field representatives to real-time store-level data and task management tools.

Walmart Data Ventures introduced Scintilla In-Store on February 23, 2026. The platform replaces the existing Volt app and requires no new downloads. Field representatives can log in and access the updated functionality immediately.

The app unifies essential tools, real-time data, actionable metrics, and supplier-assigned tasks in a single platform. Field representatives can identify items running low, ensure shelf changes reflect accurately in inventory systems, and resolve issues in real time.

“Scintilla In-Store is redefining our operations in Walmart stores,” said Pamela Stewart, North America Chief Customer Officer at The Coca-Cola Company. “The enhanced app experience provides real-time inventory visibility and equips our representatives with advanced tools, enabling them to work more efficiently and make data-driven decisions during every store visit.”

Suppliers using Scintilla outperformed their peers in business metrics. Total omni sales increased 15% for subscribers compared to non-subscribers when comparing October 2023 through September 2024 to October 2024 through September 2025. Digital sales grew even faster for platform users.

The client base expanded 173% compared to last year. Small-to-medium sized business representation grew more than 100% year-to-date. Every supplier up for renewal this year signed contracts for another three years, with some extending even longer.

Scintilla builds on Volt Systems, which Walmart acquired in August 2022. The technology company provided suppliers with store-level data, analytics, and shelf intelligence.

“Data has never been more critical to understanding our customers and anticipating their needs,” said Mark Hardy, Senior Vice President at Walmart Data Ventures. “With Scintilla, we’re delivering more than just data — we’re providing actionable insights that empower our clients to make smarter decisions and unlock new opportunities.”

The platform operates in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. It launched in Mexico earlier in 2024 and became available in Canada by year-end.

Walmart serves approximately 280 million customers weekly across more than 10,900 stores and e-commerce websites in 19 countries. The company reported fiscal year 2026 revenue of $713 billion.
