Quick Facts
- Mylow users achieve more than double the conversion rate compared to non-users
- Lowe’s processes about one million questions per month between Mylow and Mylow Companion
- Customer satisfaction scores increase by 200 basis points when associates use the in-store AI version
Lowe’s AI-powered assistant Mylow is delivering measurable business results nearly a year after launch. The home improvement retailer reports that customers using Mylow achieve more than double the conversion rate compared to non-users.
The company launched Mylow in March 2025 through a partnership with OpenAI. Lowe’s followed with Mylow Companion in May 2025, deploying the AI tool across all 1,700+ stores for retail associates.
“Home improvement is inherently complex and can feel overwhelming even for the most experienced DIYer,” said Seemantini Godbole, Lowe’s Chief Digital and Information Officer. “That’s why Lowe’s has invested in AI and emerging technologies to create solutions that truly help our customers.”
Lowe’s tailors Mylow differently for DIY customers versus professionals. DIY customers receive consolidated guidance and product suggestions in one space. Professional customers get specialized support through a pro-specific version of the associate AI suite.
The pro version cuts preparation time dramatically. Pro-focused employees previously spent hours compiling information for customer project calls. That process now takes under a minute.
Language accessibility remains a priority. Lowe’s launched Mylow with Spanish capabilities for voice and text inquiries. In February 2026, the company extended Spanish language support to Mylow Companion.
Customer behavior patterns have shifted with AI adoption. Customers now type full conversational sentences instead of keyword searches. “Search used to be three or four keywords you tried to really hone in on,” said Joe Cano, Lowe’s SVP of digital commerce. “Now, people are actually doing full sentences like, ‘How do I start my kitchen renovation project?’”
The AI tools bridge online and in-store experiences. Customers can start planning projects through Mylow and save information to their profile. Store associates can then access that profile to help customers evaluate products in person.
Lowe’s processes about one million questions monthly between both AI tools. Customer satisfaction scores increase by 200 basis points when associates use Mylow Companion.
CEO Marvin Ellison positioned the deployment as a competitive advantage. “Achieving this milestone places Lowe’s in an elite tier of companies that are not just experimenting with AI, but operating at a true enterprise scale,” he said.
The company plans to expand AI capabilities with visualization tools. Cano envisions customers taking photos of their kitchens and reimagining them in real time. “It’s going to be almost a Pinterest-type experience,” he said.
