Direct-to-consumer swimwear brand Andie debuted a limited-edition collaboration with Target this week, launching 49 exclusive styles across all Target stores, Target.com and the Target app.
The collection features 43 bathing suits and 6 cover-ups available in sizes XS to 3X with extended long torso fits. Bikini separates start at $32, one-piece swimsuits at $50, and cover-up dresses at $42. This represents significant savings compared to Andie’s core line which retails from $125-$160.
“This collaboration with Target allows us to bring that approach to more women than ever, delivering thoughtfully designed swim at an accessible price point,” said Melanie Travis, founder and CEO of Andie.
The partnership marks a major expansion for Andie, which currently operates with 85% direct-to-consumer sales and 15% wholesale accounts. Target purchased the swimsuits outright from Andie, with the DTC brand handling end-to-end production and shipping to Target warehouses.
Target’s Gena Fox, senior vice president of apparel and accessories, said the collaboration “reaffirms Target as the destination for swimwear — offering a mix of owned brands, national brands and new or emerging brands that are quickly becoming cult-favorites like Andie swimwear.”
The launch aligns with Target’s broader turnaround strategy to reclaim merchandising authority through exclusive partnerships. Chief Merchandising Officer Cara Sylvester emphasized “delivering true differentiation, elevating innovation and emerging brands.”
For the Target collection, Andie created simpler silhouettes with less hardware than its regular products and uses a nylon spandex blend instead of the brand’s signature recycled nylon. The hero piece is the Copacabana One Piece, inspired by Andie’s best-selling Amalfi style.
Founded in 2017, Andie was earning more than $20 million in annual revenue while growing 75-150% year over year as of 2022. The brand currently targets expanding wholesale to 50% of total sales, up from the current 10%.
